STRESS x4 (a journey to the beach)

STRESS x4 (a journey to the beach) from Fendy Gan on Vimeo.

Sped up longboard journey from Melbourne CBD to St. Kilda Beach.

Callum, G, and I took a trip to St. Kilda beach on our longboards. We started at Southbank Promenade, right across from Flinder St Station, and skated along the Yarra river to the Casino Exhibition Centre. Then we started skating southwest along a bike road all the way to Beacon Cove. From there, we just skated southeast along the beaches until we reach St. Kilda Beach.

The entire journey took 44.5 minutes and was filmed on my GoPro camera. Another 3.5 minutes and the memory in the camera would've ran out. Along with the race against the memory life of the camera, we were also racing against the weather. There was a storm brewing but as you can see in the video, there was blue sky at our destination. Shortly after our arrival at St. Klida, it started to rain. We were lucky enough to get a good 30 minutes after the rain stopped to do some filming before it started up again for good.

At one point in the journey, part of the bike path was closed off so we were forced to walk the tram tracks for 5 minutes. This part of the journey was cut out in the video.
